Monitoring - With the now global scale of COVID-19, we have observed many regional internet exchanges in APAC begin to struggle with the staggering demand. We expect this trend to continue into Europe and the Americas.

To proactively prepare for even greater demand, and to secure access to what is for many a critical communication tool, we have decided to reduce the maximum bandwidth per connection to the Pexip Service's virtual meeting platform to 768 kbps. The consequence will be that for certain video calls, you may see a lower resolution/image quality.

It is a special situation for everyone and we want to make sure all our customers can continue to collaborate reliably with the best possible quality.

Monitoring - Our monitoring systems have alerted us to a loss of connectivity to our Toronto PoP between 18:13 and 18:15 UTC. This does not appear to have affected all users connecting to this PoP but connectivity has returned to normal and we are investigating the cause with our upstream network provider.

Update - We are still in process with YouTube to get issues related to the tight integration corrected, however, it has also been observed that existing YouTube integrations intermittently experience these issues as well.

Identified - An issue has been identified with My Meeting Video's tight integration to YouTube where we are currently unable to start YouTube Live events via the YouTube API.

The DevOps team is working to resolve this issue, until this is resolved we advise customers to use the custom RTMP integrations to connect to YouTube Live.

Investigating - Pexip's ISP in Canada will perform proactive network maintenance in our PoP in Canada to increase network capacity. The PoP will not take any traffic for 30 minutes at 08:40 UTC during non-business hours in the region. Ongoing calls during this time frame will be disconnected, and the new calls will not be affected.
